Four weeks ago, Conrad was sick with a viral infection and was diagnosed with asthma. He has become more needy since his illness and has reverted to sharing Shelly's bed at night. He wakes in the night seeking Shelley's reassurance she is still there. Due to Conrad's acute illness Shelley had to take time off work. Since Conrad's illness Shelley and Conrad have attended their local GP clinic weekly to review Conrad's recovery and to support the management of Conrad's asthma diagnosis. Jake has been invited to attend the appointments but has refused.

So far Shelley has been given an asthma plan and a pamphlet explaining the pathophysiology and general treatments offered to asthma patients.

Today she is attending another review at her GP clinic, in the waiting room she starts crying. The Registered Nurse takes her to a private space and Shelley states she feels very alone in managing Conrad's condition.
