Question: The control design in Figure is proposed for maximizing the pro duction rate in a chemical plant. The likely equipment limitations are the maximum reactor heating, the maximum flow of vapor from the flash, and the maximum reboiler duty in the distillation tower. The proposed design may not function well because of the long dynamics. Suggest enhancements that would ensure that

(a) the maximum vapor flow from the flash is not exceeded and

(b) the product quality in the distillation tower would be controlled close to its set point.
