E-Mail Investigation

While working at the Triton Corporation, an employee comes to your office to report that he just received an email from another employee who was fired yesterday. The email stated that he was coming up to the office at 3:00 PM with a rifle and pistol to wreak havoc on the corporation.

Compose a 2-3 page paper explaining the steps you are going to take in dealing with the email forensically and how you are going to handle the situation. Discuss priority action items, such as determining if the email is real or a hoax, identification of the employee, use of email headers, contacting ISP's, notifying law enforcement, etc.
