Self-discipline

A leader must demonstrate consistency and commitment in any course. The result of a lack of self-discipline is usually failure. For example, a leader may start a new project in an organization and invite the junior employees to embrace it. However, if the vision-bearer begins to lag in accomplishing their tasks, other workers will have no source of motivation. As a leader, I must understand that those assigned to me constantly look up to me for direction. I can only expect my juniors to demonstrate self-discipline if I do. Consistency is critical. Self-discipline takes work. However, the human body and soul are wired to adjust accordingly to circumstances. Therefore, consistency in an aspect of one's life makes that particular activity or discipline easier. Regardless of how difficult a task might be, I, as a leader, must always try to be the source of motivation.
