Question: Building upon Part I, Part II is designed to help you gain the skills necessary to effectively justify a particular behavioral health intervention using an appropriate intervention/program or combination of interventions/programs. This is similar to justifying your approach when writing a grant proposal. You should keep the same topic and age group as Part I. You should not include your Part I paper as part of this Part II paper. Part II is an entirely new paper.

You will take the first steps in utilizing the scientific literature surrounding a specific behavioral health problem in a specific population to select the "best" approach or combination of approaches with which to develop an effective intervention/program.

Please use any strategies that we discuss from the entire semester and from your research literature review of strategies/interventions/programs. In your paper (8-9 pagesexcluding references, double-spaced) you will use the scientific literature to concisely provide the following:

State your behavioral health problem (same topic and age group as Part I). This section should include your target population and setting (e.g., school, community, worksite). You should also cite the most recent data available on the prevalence or incidence of the problem.
Why this problem is important and why it is important to intervene now

What types of program/interventions have been done?

Based on a thorough review of the literature focused on interventions for this problem over the last decade, which strategies have been used and which have been shown to be effective. Please create a table for this portion of the paper and include 5 headings: Authors/date, Population, Type of study design, Constructs used, Outcomes. Constructs used includes any theoretical constructs or variables or approaches targeted by the intervention. For example, maybe motivational interviewing is used, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or mindfullness mediation. Or perhaps a particular intervention tries to target social norms, self-efficacy, or uses skill building activities. The table is not included in the page count and should be included after your reference page as Table 1.
Based on your findings from above, discuss what strategy(ies) you propose to use as you plan your intervention. This is similar to justifying your approach when writing a grant proposal.

Explain your intervention strategy(ies) and justify how they are based on peer-reviewed research. That is, refer back to the research literature and cite to support your case.

Are there any ethical concerns about your strategy(ies)?
