A Steel beam is supported on eachend by columns in a building. The beam is designed tohold a 10kN heating unit at mid span. There are no other loads onthe beam. Using G40.21 350W steel, select the lightest W shapes forthe beam. Assume there is full lateral support. Consider Moment, Shear and Deflection. The beam is simplysupported.
