Assignment:
Personal perception is influenced by many intrapersonal factors including knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, values, experiences, skills, culture, and religion. Four major perceptions (perceived seriousness, perceived susceptibility, perceived benefits, and perceived barriers) serve as the basic constructs of the Health Behavior Model (HBM).
For this discussion, select a personal health behavior (e.g., physical activity, healthy diet, smoking, vaping); then, utilize the constructs of the HBM to;
1) to explain why you do or do not currently engage in the behavior and
2) explain which perceptions (e.g., perceived threat, self-efficacy) must change for you to change how often you engage in the behavior (i.e., to increase the frequency of healthy behavior or decrease the frequency of harmful behaviors).
