Trademarks-Trademark Dilution

Trademarks are simply a recognizable sign, design, or expression which differs the company or product or service from the others. One of the key aspects about trademark is that person himself is liable to protect his trademark. The USPTO registers trademarks, but it doesn't monitor and enforce them. One can even lose his registered trademark if he does not monitor or protect it well.

Trademark Dilution is a concept by which the owner of the famous trademark can forbid others from using it so as it reduces the oneness of the trademark. One of the interesting examples of Trademark Dilution is the coca-cola company. Coca-cola is such a huge brand that every now and then we can someone using either its color scheme or the curved letters or the rhymes of words or by any other means. And in the maximum of the cases, these signs are not even registered they were just made to create confusion in the mind of the customers and get some gains out of the confusion.
