Large tech companies such as HP, Intel and Logitech have global operations with different sectors of the business operating in different regions of the world. For example, Logitech, manufactures in Taiwan and China, bases its R&D in California and Switzerland, designs products in Ireland and coordinates marketing and operations from California. Using Porter's diamond help explain why hightech firms do not operate all their activities from a single central location. In your answer outline why a firm such as Logitech favours its investment decisions across the globe, and if Porter's diamond can be used to predict where high-tech firms will invest in their operations. In your answer use examples where appropriate.
