A dc motor position control system has the following transfer system function:
H(s) = (55/s)(1/1+0.731s)(1/1+0.0132s).
Explain why a PID controller is not a good idea for this process. Use Matlab to design a PD controller for this process. Repeat the design, but this time use a lead-lag compensation network to cancel the 0.731 time constant and replace it with a 0.0731 time constant. Then use MATLAB to design a PD controller for the compensated process. Compared the two designs.
