Part II: Who is the Winner of the Battle Between Rationalists and Empiricists OR Are You Taking the Middle Road like Kant?
In this part of the reflection, explain who you think won the battle of epistemology (if you think there is a winner).
If you feel that the battle has a clear winner, explain why you believe either rationalism or empiricism is the winner. What do you find convincing with the approach? How do you think this approach influenced the development of society and culture?
If you feel there are aspects to consider from both of these approaches - just like Kant argues - discuss what aspects you agree with and which ones you might not agree with at this point. In what ways do you agree / disagree with Kant's Transcendental Idealism? In what ways, do you think, the conflict between the theories of rationalism and empiricism have impacted society and culture (in the past and today)?
You could also discuss strengths and flaws in the approaches of rationalism, empiricism, and Kant's Transcendental Idealism as well as discuss aspects of the nature and extent of knowledge that neither of these approaches take into consideration.
