Step One: Write you personal vision for your career -

1. A great way to approach the creation of a Personal Vision is to explore and reflect on the following questions:
(Write down your thoughts as you read through the questions.)

When I am most energized and focused, what am I working on?

What do I like so much that I would do it for free?

When I daydream, where does my heart go?

What do I feel compelled to pursue?

What do I really care about? What sparks my interest?

2. Write and upload a personal vision statement. Don't just tell us you want to be an exec, or be a CEO. Get realistic and truthful. What do you see yourself doing or wanting to do in the future.

Step Two: Develop a Vision Retreat

1. Prepare the scenario:

Develop a company or department/Division. Feel free to use your current work situation and even make it real. If current, state the current vision and all supporting materials leading to it or explaining it.

Explain the situation: industry, local environment of the org., strengths and weaknesses (and competencies) of the org., competitors competencies,future needs, etc.

Explain who would be at the retreat and why.

Explain all preparation for the retreat including physical site.

Show the agenda and time frame.

Develop what you think might be the resulting vision with supporting explanation.
