1. You asked a roofing company to make repairs to the roof of the building in which your firm operates its business. In the course of these repairs, one of the company's roofers carelessly dropped some shingles onto the head of a passerby of the building. The injured plaintiff is suing your firm, the roofing company, and the roofer for damages. In this situation there is both an employee and an independent contractor.
