Scenario:
You are an experienced law enforcement officer. You are assigned to the afternoon shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.). You are dispatched to a loud music complaint at an apartment complex. Upon arrival, you discover loud music coming from apartment #3, which is on the lower ground level. The apartment door is standing partially open and when you knock a voice yells "come in". You enter and announce you are the police as you walk toward the kitchen where the voice is coming from. Before you reach the kitchen, you smell a strange odor and upon reaching the kitchen you see a large mound of a white, powdery substance and lines of the white substance on the table in plain sight. A woman is sitting there about to snort the white powder up her nose. Upon seeing you she asks you to leave. You inquire about the white substance which you recognize as cocaine and she replies, "get out of my apartment!" In response, you tell her she is under arrest and is handcuffed, without incident. The substance tests positive for cocaine.
