Question: One of the hallmarks of great literature is that there are memorable lines or passages that stick with the reader long after the reading is finished. In the novel "The Outsiders" by Hinton, there are many memorable lines and passages. For example, in an oddity rarely found elsewhere in fiction, the first sentence of the novel and the last sentence of the novel are the same. Why would Hinton do that? take one line, sentence or passage (other than the first/last sentence) and explain what you think it means both as an individual piece and also to the book as a whole. In explaining the passage, make sure you keep the focus on the novel.
