Instructions
In this assignment, you will be evaluating data at FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data). Complete the following items:
1. First, in a paragraph or two, describe what components make up M1, M2 and MZM.
2. Go to the Federal Reserve Bank of Saint Louis [https://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/categories/25/]
3. Select the data series for the components listed below. Use the Monthly, Seasonally Adjusted data. Set your dates to look at the past 30 years, so you will use dates of 1985 to 2015. To more closely look at trends, feel free to look at it on a one year, five year or ten year basis rather than at all 30 years at once.
· M1 Money Stock
· Currency
· Total Checkable Deposits
· Demand Deposits at Commercial Banks
· Travelers Checks Outstanding
4. Now, in two to three paragraphs, explain what patterns and trends you see in the data for each of these components.
• When did clear changes occur?
• Explain what you feel could have been occurring.
• Which changes could have occurred because of economic events?
• Were there times when people appeared to shift from one aggregate to another?
Make sure you use correct spelling, grammar, etc.
Reversibility of a chain
: A stationary chain fXng with transition probabilities pij is called reversible if there is a function m.x/ such that pij m.i/ D pji m.j/ for all i; j 2 S . Give a simple sufficient condition in terms of the function m that ensures that a reversible c..

Determine the damping coefficient
: A machine weighing 3.5 kg vibrates in a viscous medium. A harmonic exciting force of 40 N acts on the machine and produces resonant amplitude of 18 mm with a period of 0.2 s. Determine the damping coefficient.
|
What would be the amplitude
: The support of a spring-mass system is vibrating with an amplitude of 6 mm and a frequency of 1200 cycles per minute. If the mass is 0.95 kg and the spring has a stiffness of 1950 N/m, determine the amplitude of vibration of the mass. If a damping..

Constructing examples
: Construct an example of each of the following phenomena: (a) a Markov chain with only absorbing states; (b) a Markov chain that is irreducible but not regular;
|
Wheel of fortune continued
: Consider again the Markov chains corresponding to the wheel of fortune. Prove or disprove that they are irreducible and aperiodic.
