Question: For PART 2 of your capstone project. You will:
1. Research a community group that is responding to the gap or systemic health inequity problem(Access to housing). Explain what the group is and how they are speaking back to the way the problem is impacting them. What is their critique of mainstream or government responses and policies? What change(s) are they asking for? What change(s) are they building and enacting?
2. Use the course reading from week 6 on Targeted and Universal approaches to health equity to explain how this innovative approach, or approaches, intervene(s) in the problem. Is the intervention universal? Targeted? Targeted universal?
Explain what the intervention is, why it is needed, why it is designed in this way and ways it meets the needs of the community. You can add your own analysis of what might improve or boost the intervention, what other interventions might work alongside and strengthen equity and what barriers to this intervention are identified.
Remember that this part of the project is building on the first part(the first part was the problem on access to housing and how its impact people on disabilty).
You have already explained the problem and who it impacts. Now you are working to highlight ways community groups are working to build equity in this area in innovative and community-grounded ways. Eg: A community food fridge organized and maintained by community for community. Learn more about community fridges through this Instagram page.
