Question

John Travolta was hired as a salesman by All For Me Baby Ltd. After four years he was promoted to sales manager at a salary of $500.00 per week. Unfortunately, the economic situation caused the company to rethink its structure and it decide to downsize. John was told that his job had become redundant. He accepted this reason and was looking forward to being paid. However, he was only paid for time worked and accrued vacation. One week after John accepted the payment, Henry, who was still employed with the company told John that the company had just made him sales manager and he wanted some ideas on how to continue running the department. John became very angry and thought about filing a trade dispute. However, he never made up his mind until one year and two weeks after he was made redundant. John attended one meeting at the Department of Labor after which the matter was referred to the Industrial Tribunal for a hearing. John received a ruling in his favor, but the company refused to pay. John worked for the company for seven years.
