Please please help me with this worksheet on cladograms. This was all I was provided. I'm very confused and will have cladograms on an upcoming test. Thank you in advance.

What follows is a brief description of 7 fictitious organisms. Use the descriptions to produce a character table and use that character table to construct the best cladogram for the organisms mentioned.

Organisms:

-Babista is a small round brown creature which has black eye patches around both its eyes. Its back is covered in white spots and its belly is white. It has two antennae and a small mouth and short tail.

-Fabista has a small round body with a short tail and black eye patches around its two eyes. Its body is entirely brown in colour and it lacks antennae and lacks horns, but it does have a small mouth.

-Olista has a round body which has no tail, an entirely brown body with no eye patches around its two eyes. It has a small mouth and no horns nor antennae on its head.

-Dabista is a small round creature with a small mouth, s small tail and a body which is entirely brown. It has no antennae but instead has two horns. It has two eyes , but no eye patches.

-Cabista has three eyes, two antennae, and a small tail. It has a brown body with a white belly and white spots on its back. It has a round body , a small mouth and eye patches on two of its eyes.

-Gabista has a small round brown body and a small tail. It has no antennae but has two horns and a large mouth. It has two eyes but no eye patches.

-Abista has a small round brown body with a white belly and black eye patches on its two eyes. It also has two antennae and a small mouth and small tail.

If you have time, if you could help me answer these as well please. Sorry this worksheet really confuses me.

-What is the outgroup in the cladogram?

-Which characteristics is predicted to have occurred latest in evolutionary time in this particular cladogram?

-Give an example of a paraphyletic group in this cladogram.

-Explain what parsimony is in the context of cladograms.

-According to this cladogram, is Babista more closely related to Cabista or Abista?

-Using this cladogram, is it possible to determine which characteristic occurred first in each of the following cases? Explain.

a) White spots and white belly

b) Antennae or white belly

c) Horns or large mouth
