Female sexual arousal disorder is described as "a sexual disorder in which there is a lack of response to sexual stimulation" (Hyde, J. S., & Delamater, J. D. 2020)

Explain what may be causing the problem.

Causes of this disorder can be physical, hormonal, psychological or social.

Physical causes can include several medical diagnoses such as cancer, kidney failure, multiple sclerosis, heart disease and bladder problems. In addition to that, medications used to treat these conditions such antidepressants, blood pressure medications, antihistamines and chemotherapy drugs can also cause contribute to this disorder.

When it comes to hormonal causes, Lower estrogen levels after menopause leads to decreased blood flow to the pelvic region, which can result in less genital sensation. Sexual desire also decreases when hormonal levels decrease.

Woman's body's hormone levels also shift after giving birth which can lead to vaginal dryness and can affect your desire to have sex.

Psychological issues such as anxiety or depression can cause or contribute to sexual dysfunction, as can long-term stress and a history of sexual abuse.

Social causes include conflicts with your partner - about sex or other aspects of your relationship and cultural standard that cause problems with body image also can contribute.

Provide a therapeutic approach that could address the issue.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy would be the best approach for this disorder.
