Ba2+ ions are opaque to X-rays and are used to improve the quality of intestinal X-rays. However, they are toxic. So the concentration of the ion is controlled by the addition of dilute Na2SO4 to barium (II) sulfate solutions. What is the solubility of barium (II) sulfate in water and also in 0.10M Na2SO4(aq)?
