CASE STUDY- Read the situation below and answer the questions which follow:

On Saturday, Anil saw an original painting at an artist's shop with a price ticket of $6,000. When he went in to buy it, the shop owner, Brian laughed and said that the ticket must have been wrongly marked as the actual price of the painting was $12,000. However in the circumstances he said he would reduce the price to $9,000. Anil asked for time to think about the offer and Brian said he would give Anil 5 days to think about it. Four days later Anil discovered from his friend Anabelle that she had purchased it on site for $10,000 cash.

i. Define and distinguish between the terms ‘OFFER' and ‘INVITATION TO TREAT' 

ii. As an advisor, explain to Anil whether he is in a positive or negative legal situation to win a case against Brian and why.
