A glass beaker has a small round hole in its side. A laser beam shines horizontally through the baker, out the hole, and strikes a screen. The hole is now plugged up and the beaker is filled with water. When the plug is removed, the water streams out the hole. The laser beam still shines through the hole, but no longer strikes the screen. Rather, there is a region of light on the floor where the streaming water is landing.
