Go to the BC Courts website (https://www.courts.gov.bc.ca/) choose "Recent Judgments" and choose either Supreme Court or Court of Appeal. Then select a recently released judgment that interest you. Write a 4 page (Times New Roman or Arial, 12 point font, double spaced, original margins) overview of your observations. Include the name of the case, date(s), name of the parties involved and judge(s). Attach a printed copy of the case you chose to the back of your assignment. Summarize the judgment, considering the positions of the plaintiff/defendant or Crown/defendant. What areas of law are considered? Does the judge identify which evidence was influential in deciding the case one way or another? Explain how that written case fits into what we are learning about the Common Law in class. What are your observations about the structure or format of the written case? What do you find interesting or significant about the case?
