4. Everyone agrees there is a need for the effective communication and sharing or information within the company. It is really easy for a manager to identify the need as well as determine if such communications is occurring. However, it is extremely difficult for managers to implement policies and processes to foster knowledge transfer. The question to the class is what do you do to improve the sharing of knowledge?
5. Meeting together is getting harder and harder in these days of budget cuts. I am a firm believer in the personal touch and insist on as many facts to face meetings with customers and my sales team as possible. While teleconferences and video conferences do take care of the routine activities, they do not build trust and relationships. Unfortunately in this day of highly automated meetings we are losing the personal touch. Any thoughts.
6. Many of you have noted the leadership role of the CEO as identified in the text. Leadership of the team and developing effective communications is a role of management in the global environment as well as the small sole proprietor company in any local community. It is a challenge for any CEO to develop a management team that works together without secrets and games. The open and effective sharing of information is a critical component of success.
The question for everyone is what should the CEO noted here as having managers they don't share information do about this situation?
