Details: You have been reviewing recent reports relating to the operations department. Responses to a recent employee satisfaction survey have shown that employee attitudes within the department are on the decline, and reports from human resources have shown that absenteeism is on the rise. You look at the same reports for the past three years, all that is available and notice that this trend started as the operations department really started to grow from a small group of employees to multiple product lines and several additional levels of management.
Your director wants you to put together a short presentation outlining your thoughts on what is causing this trend of decreasing employee morale and recommendations on how to reverse this negative trend.
You decide to start with helping your supervisor, who is an engineer by education and experience, understand the antecedents to employee morale, including the variations of employee attitudes and motivation. You want to be sure he understands the connections between the individual employee's satisfaction, attendance and morale.
Your presentation should include discussing at least 3 different courses of action, that UPI can implement separately or in combination, to reverse this trend and improve employee morale.
The presentation should be 8-10 PowerPoint slides (excluding the title and reference slides) with 200-250 words of speaker notes for each slide.
