Project - Fabrication and electrical performance testing of Aluminum ion battery with Eutectic Solvents Electrolytes(aluminum air battery)
Objective 1: To determine the melting points, room-temperature operating properties of the Eutectic solvents of hydrogen bond donor organic solvents with different functional groups (glycerol, urea, thiourea, triethylene glycol) or steric groups (adipic acid, phenol, glucose, citric acid, benzamide) with AlCl3 (hydrogen bond acceptor).
Objective 2: To identify the best combination of Eutectic solvents of hydrogen bond donor organic solvents with different functional groups (glycerol, urea, thiourea, triethylene glycol) or steric groups (adipic acid, phenol, glucose, citric acid, benzamide) with AlCl3 (hydrogen bond acceptor) with the highest specific capacity and energy density.
Objective 3: To explain the working mechanism and interactions of different functional groups and steric groups of Eutectic solvents with AlCl3 and the effects to battery performance could be explained.
By completing the proposed project, the expected outcomes and potential benefits to the beneficiaries are described as below:
(1) The melting points, room-temperature operating properties of the Eutectic solvents of hydrogen bond donor organic solvents with different functional groups (glycerol, urea, thiourea, triethylene glycol) or steric groups (adipic acid, phenol, glucose, citric acid, benzamide) with AlCl3 (hydrogen bond acceptor) could be determined.
(2) The best combination of Eutectic solvents of hydrogen bond donor organic solvents with different functional groups (glycerol, urea, thiourea, triethylene glycol) or steric groups (adipic acid, phenol, glucose, citric acid, benzamide) with AlCl3 (hydrogen bond acceptor) could be identified with the highest specific capacity and energy density.
(3) The working mechanism and interactions of different functional groups and steric groups of with AlCl3 and the effects to battery performance could be explained.
