A wastewater treatment plant has a flowrate of 3500 m3/d. The BOD5 of the settled sewage is 130 mg/L. A trickling filter is incorporated to achieve the secondary treatment. The data for the trickling filter is the following: recirculation ratio = 1.5; diameter = 25 m; depth = 2 m. Determine the hydraulic load (m3/dm2) and the treatment efficiency of the trickling filter.
