Delta Group Fertilizers is a 20-year-old fertilizer manufacturing company in Haryana, decided to expand their business in 3 other states namely Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana where the product is having good demand. They planned to approach farmers directly to understand their demands and also the dealers in the said state to establish the products.

Mr. Rahul who is looking after the HR department of Delta Group was called by Mr. Pradeep. He informed Rahul that to identify best candidates for marketing department who can establish the products in the new market. He informed Rahul to search 3 best marketing candidates in place within a week & suggested not to wait for any further order, complete the task in a best possible way at the earliest. Rahul also started his work with immediate effect. He finalized 3 best candidates namely Karan, Rajat and Varun, however due to the pressure to close the vacancies at the earliest Rahul skipped few important steps in selection process. After Recruitment Rahul introduced them to Mr. Pradeep thereafter, he assigned with their duties.

After a month Mr. Pradeep called Rahul and started a heated argument as follows, "Rahul I believed you and asked you to recruit 3 best candidates, Once you finalized I didn't had a second thought, I placed them for the task and you blasted all my dreams".

Confused Rahul asked in a polite voice "But sir I brought best candidates; I am not able to understand the issue sir. I didn't even get the opportunity to meet them after I left them in your cabin". Mr. Pradeep said "OK, let me explain you clearly. Except Varun who is placed in Madhya Pradesh, both of your other 2 candidates could not bring any business, Rajat cheated two clients, misbehaved with fellow colleagues and through my research I have found he has a history of misbehaving and cheating.

Karan who is placed in Telangana does not know local language. So, Rahul tell me what should I do now. Why should I pay you if you are unable to do even a basic HR job."
