GENOME Company (GENOME) is a tech company started in 2017. It was started in order to find a less expensive, more compact piece of equipment to test and sequence the genetic material of DNA. The industry in which genome collection, research and use already had been around since its inception for lecades. GENOME believed that its technology could become an industry leader because of its lower cost and rapid results. Existing equipment was bulkier and very expensive, as were the data cartridges needed to e used in them. The industry serves research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, biology research and anthropology studies, testing labs and others, which now are quite numerous. DNA (Genome) use and research is growing every day.
GeNOME's equipment would be less expensive, perform sequencing in 8 hours versus days, and the sequencing would only cost US$100.00. An added potential revenue stream are the non-reusable test ridges (that contain a microchip with all the genetic and personal information on it) the machine uses for eachsequencing, which are designed just for their equipment and inexpensive to manufacture in mass ne. A different cartridge must be used for each sequencing (testing). Of course, once GENOME had a ed cartridge to do the sequencing (testing), they also would have all the genetic and personal ation of the client contained on that cartridge.
"GENOME is now reconsidering its business model and what it could be and should be.
A. How many different Business Models (that is, from this information, how many different or separate business opportunities do you think GENOME has (Hint it is more than ONE)
B. For each Business Model describe briefly what it is, what the value proposition is for each, what is the opportunity and what are the risks you can identify, and ultimately, which would you choose and why?
C. What if any other considerations would you have.
