XYZ Company invites the applicants to complete an online application form for jobs in the company. In this, they seek the name, address, other demographic details such as race, ethnicity, age, gender, veteran status, etc., and also seeks information about the previous employment history, job title, nature of work, references, etc. Once the applications are screened, the shortlisted candidates are asked to take: i. a personality test (the test consists of 20 statements and each candidate selects one of the following five options (1 = Strongly Agree 2 = Agree, 3 - Neither Agree Nor Disagree, 4 = Disagree, and 5 = Strongly Disagree); ii. an intelligence test consisting of 50 questions with each question getting a 2 for correct answer and a 0 for incorrect answer (score can range from 0 to 100), iii. interview by three managers of the company (each manager orders each candidate as most suitable, suitable, suitable but needs training, and not suitable. iv. The HR manager scores each candidate from 1 to N where 1 is the best candidate, 2 is the second best candidate, etc., and N being the least suitable candidate. After the individuals are hired, the company collects information about their work performance from: i. the supervisor (the supervisor rates the candidates on various dimensions such as productivity, quality of work, ability to work in teams, etc., using the following scale: 4 = Exceeds Expectations; 3 = Meets Expectations; 2 = Needs Improvement; and 1 = Well below Expectations. ii; peers in the same rank evaluate each new employee as follows: Yes = The employee meets the expectations and No = The employee does not meet the expectations; iii: Number of days of unexcused absence; iv: Productivity as measured by the number of units of items produced in a month; v: Number of new clients generated by the employee (depending upon the job) vi: Dollar volume of new business generated by the employee (depending upon the job).
