- In what proportion should NaCl and KI be mixed so that the mixture will contain the same percentage of halogen as does pure KBr?

- A 600.0 mg sample consisting of only CaC2O4 and MgC2O4 is heated at 500 degrees celsius converting the two salts to CaCO3 and MgCO3. The sample then weighs 465.0mg. If the sample had been heated at 900 degrees celsius, the products would have been CaO and MgO, what would the mixture of oxides weigh?

Formula masses:

NaCl 58.44 Cl 35.45 CaC2O4 128.10 MgC2O4 112.33

KI 166.0 I 126.90 CaCO3 100.09 MgCO3 84.32

KBr 119.09 Br 79.91 CaO 56.08 MgO 40.31
