Problem- Why does a crystalline version of a sample react more quickly than a powdered version of that same sample, even if the two have the same mass and number of reactive particles within them?

Because the crystalline version has a more ordered structure, making it more reactive.

Because crystalline structures generally take to catalysts better, thus speeding up the reaction.
