Unfortunately, during a night out, you become a victim of an armed robbery during which your good friend is shot in front of you and immediately after the robber also aims his gun at you. It is safe to assume that your sympathetic nervous system is activated in response to this acute stress. For several months later you are under additional stress dealing with the aftermath of this encounter. Explain the role that the adrenal gland would play in both the acute stress experienced that evening and the chronic stress you faced later. Be sure to include the hormones released and the effects of their activity. Respond to a classmate's post by explaining why their explanation of the adrenal gland's role is correct or incorrect.
