Findley Cooper was nearly out the door to the backyard when he noticed an owl lying on the ground. He cautiously approached the animal thinking it would surely fly away, but it didn't. As he got closer, he noticed there were no wounds, but blood was oozing from around the eyes and nose. This was not a good sign. He needed to act fast if there was any chance of rescuing this animal. He got in touch with the local wildlife rehabilitation center, which advised him to bring the animal as quickly as possible. If the owl wasn't found by Findley and taken to the wildlife rehabilitation center, how might this affect the next animal or organism in the food chain? And, explain the role of the owl in the food chain.
