WRITTEN ACTIVITY
For this task you must research each of the following topics, and complete a detailed report on your findings. You will need to respond to each of the below tasks:

8. Describe two methods of collecting and storing mentoring program data.
9. Outline 6 methods for evaluating and reporting on mentoring programs.
PRACTICAL ACTIVITY
The following task must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in the management and leadership field of work and include access to:
• office equipment and resources
• relevant legislation and workplace documents
• case studies and, where available, real situations
• interaction with others.
For this task you are to complete the following steps to plan and implement a mentoring program for a mentor and mentee.
Perform the following steps to plan and implement the mentoring program:
1. Outline the benefits and needs for the mentoring program. Provide a list of the benefits and needs for the program.
2. Outline the purpose and objectives of this mentoring program. Document the purpose and objectives of the program
3. Consult with the key stakeholders with regard to the appropriate outcomes. Provide evidence of consultation such as meeting minutes, notes or emails
4. Develop a mentoring program plan incorporating these outcomes including
a) Identify the relevant management structures
b) Identify the support structure.
c) Outline the mentoring program modes and methods you will use.
d) Outline the resources you will require
e) The mentor-mentee selection process Provide a copy of the mentoring program plan
5. Identify how the mentoring outcomes will be reported and the resources required to do this. Document this information
6. Develop a range of tools and resources that are relevant to the mentoring program modes and methods that you are using. Provide documentation of at least one tool and resource that you are using.
7. Outline the mentor-mentee selection criteria and procedure and any tools used. Provide copies of the criteria and procedures. Provide examples of the tools used.
8. Establish the mentor-mentee policies and procedures including:
a) Formal requirements for the mentor-mentee relationship
b) Key accountabilities and responsibilities
c) Reporting outcomes from the mentor-mentee relationship Provide copies of these policies and procedures
9. Induct mentors and mentees into the program. Provide copies of the induction program and evidence of induction such as signed documentation
10. Create a communication plan to co-ordinate mentor-mentee communication. Provide a copy of this plan
11. Complete and maintain all mentoring records as per organisational requirements. Provide sample copies of this documentation
12. Prepare a report to management outlining the following information:
a) Evaluation of the mentoring program against agreed outcomes
b) Improvement opportunities for future mentoring programs. Provide a copy of this report
