There is a relationship between stress, inflammation, and disease. Chronic inflammation is defined as inflammation that is present for two weeks or longer. Chronic inflammation contributes to decreased organ function and ultimately increased morbidity and mortality. There are many ways that we can affect inflammation in our bodies with one being diet. For example, foods high in the essential fatty acid omega-3 can result in anti-inflammatory effects.
