Question 2 Good games are universal and parochial at the same time. Chapter 8 addresses the question here about the reason for the dominance of Western forms of sport. Were they the best games in some absolute sense, or did they just happen to be the favorite games of the most powerful countries? Or both? The games exported by the British fit their culture but they were also good games in a more objective sense. That is, they fit people, the problems they like to face, the bodies and physical capabilities they have-regardless of culture.
