Consider a small team that you have been a member of in the past 4 or 5 years, that was wholly or partially unsuccessful and/or dysfunctional. You are free use any situation for this assignment e.g. university, work, society or even sporting.

Analyse the team using the various theories of teamwork and motivation. Critically discuss the extent to which the theories can be used to explain the performance of the team and the individuals within the team. Use this analysis to critically discuss what might have been done differently to improve the functioning and/or performance.

If you had been appointed leader of the team (perhaps you were!), critically discuss how you might have used the various theories of leadership, including but not limited to situational leadership, to further improve the performance of the team and individuals within the team.
