At a particular temperature , 35.0% of ClO2 molecules have speeds exceeding 400 m/s. If ClO2 is decomposed to Cl2 and O2 and the resulting mixture is cooled until the original temperature of the ClO2 is reached, is the percentage of Cl2 molecules with speeds in excess of 400 m/s greater than or less than 35%? Explain.
