Write a reply to this: Rehabilitation centers operating with the general population in mind can be just as effective in treating people of minority descent. A caveat to this, is that minorities do not have the same "access to general health care, social supports, or substance rehabilitation programs," (Doweiko, p 256, 2018). There is limited research in the cultural lifestyle and rules within each minority group.
To explain, the Native Americans are made up of several tribes, each with their own sets of cultural rules and ways of living, some live on reservations, most do not. The Hispanic culture is made up of people from Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and other countries, each with their own lifestyles, and the same for Asian Americans.
Our text relays six different subgroups of Asian Americans. There is very little research specializing in these minority groups for AUD and SUD rehabilitation, let alone each subgroup. People of different cultures may consider dependency as more or less severe than the majority, they may describe or explain their conditions in different ways, their words may not hold the same meaning as others.
