Article Summary Speech:
. Choose an Interpersonal Communication topic that you would like to explore in depth-for example, listening, enhancing relationships, self-concept, perception, conflict, empathy, technology etc. Please avoid topics that are public speaking related.
. Choose an article/TED talk that explores your communication topic and write a summary. Be creative-you may draw from popular magazines, journals, newspapers, TED talk videos etc..

Article summary paper has been completed you will be asked to share your findings with your class peers via a public presentation! The informative speech will use a topical organizational plan and last six (6) minutes.
Point one:
Explain the interpersonal theory or model you chose for your written article summary.
Point two:
Briefly summarize the article you selected and express how the article illustrated the interpersonal topic above.
Point three:
Breakdown the most interesting "talking points" or topics you discovered. For example:
What audience/culture was the article trying to influence? Did the article succeed?
List any flaws, limitations or contradictions in the article.
Were there any interesting insights the author listed in the article that captured your interpersonal topic?
Oral and Written Sources:
Cite the article, the source you learned about your interpersonal topic from (likely your text: Looking Out Looking In) and at least one outside source or a source recommended in the article to additionally critique the information provided in your chosen article. This adds up to a minimum of three (3) citations. All sources should be orally cited in the presentation and listed in the outline.
