A student takes a mixture of sugar (C6H12O6), diamond powder (C) and BaCO3, separates the mixtures and recovers 1.75g sugar, 0.86g diamond powder and 2.29g BaCO3(s). Student % recovery was 96.46%, less than the initial amount of mixture they started with. Decribe two possible reasons for this loss in mass?
