Do this research about Honda (car). The presentation should have the following basic components:
I. Company Background: year established, ownership, business structure, leadership structure, etc.
II. Benchmarking Analysis: compare the company's performance with other firms in the industry and with historical performance of the firm to determine how well the firm is doing (e.g., whether the firm has competitive advantage).
III. Internal analyses: Company Resources, Activities, and Capabilities - identify the strengths and weaknesses of the company with special emphasis on what is the organization's ‘Sustainable Competitive Advantage' using the Resource Based View of the organization (VRINE framework).
IV. Industry Description - explain the industry or industries the company is competing and examine the nature of competition.
V. External analyses: Porter Five Forces Analysis of the Industry and PEST model. You can omit PEST model if it does not apply to your company, but you have to conduct a thorough Porter's Five Forces analysis.
VI. Summarize into a SWOT analysis table (Internal analysis using VRINE models will letyou know SW, whereas Porter's Five Forces will allow you to fully understand the OTof a firm).
VII. Analyzing both business-level and corporate level strategies. Describe the Strategies of the company and the fit of these strategies with your analysis in 3, 4, and 5.
VIII. By collecting firm and industry performance data, you will figure out whether the firm has competitive position. Then, providing a set of recommendations that the company should follow to position itself in its competitive environment.
