Assignment Help History
Reference no: EM133289531

The point of this assignment is to explain the historical significance of a primary source. Select one primary source from Week 3, and craft an argument about its importance for historians, using evidence from the source to support your claims.

The bulk of your paper should highlight details that historians can glean from this source. This can include but is not limited to, information about the class, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, space, material culture, etc. While you may use one or two secondary sources to support your claims, the bulk of the paper should focus on the document.

A strong paper will not only analyze the document for relevant content/information but also point to what's missing. What isn't addressed in this source? Why is this significant?

A solid paper will include specific examples from your primary source to back up your claims. This means direct quotations from your source with telling language that supports your analysis. You should have at least one direct quotation per point.
