According to Aristotle, virtues are character traits that are necessary for eudaimonia, or human flourishing.

1. Explain the features of virtuous character traits, according to Aristotle. In your response, say something about how the virtues involve, perception, thinking, feeling, and acting, and how this enables Aristotle to distinguish virtuous from merely continent acting.

2. One criticism of Aristotle is that his list of virtues are not universal, but merely indicative of those of aristocratic Athenian society. Explain why this is a problem and how Nussbaum thinks Aristotelians can address it.

3. Lastly, some recent work in psychology and neuroscience seems to show that people do not act out of stable character traits. Explain why this would be a problem for virtue ethics. How serious of a problem do you think it is.
