Question: The purpose of this final section is to demonstrate the effect of context on the meanings we attach to statements of ‘fact' and therefore to show how we need to be aware of a range of factors in making ethical judgements. Though dependent on one basic situation, five alternative contexts are put forwards and you are asked to consider how you would act in each. This is followed by a short discussion raising some points you might have borne in mind, though you may well have raised other, equally important, points for consideration. You should obviously be very aware not only of the information you have at hand in each context but also of the information you might wish to obtain, remembering that gathering information may itself present ethical problems.
