Acetaldehyde is produced by the dehydrogenation of ethanol according to the following reaction: C2H5OH --> CH3CHO + H2 An undesired side reaction occurs, which produces ethyl acetate: 2C2H5OH --> CH3COOC2H5 + 2H2 In a pilot plant, the conversion of ethanol is 90% and the yield of acetaldehyde is 58.5%. The ethanol enters the reactor as a vapor at 300°C and 5 bar pressure, and at a flow rate of 100 mol/h. How much heat must be added/removed (state which) to maintain the reactor outlet temperature at 300°C? State your answer in kJ/h.
