Question: Designing a Public Education Campaign

Respond to Review Question #4 in Chapter 3 of your Introduction to Homeland Security textbook. You may wish to review government websites, such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Cite at least two scholarly sources other than the texts.

The fear of the unknown can paralyze a nation. During early parts of the Cold War in the 1950s and 1960s, the government successfully implemented a national education program to help citizens understand what they should do if America was attacked with nuclear weapons.

Today we have new threats associated with a variety of terrorism hazards.

• Explain the effects of the new hazards associated with terrorism and the role education can play in reducing the public's fear of these hazards.

• Design and explain the implementation of a public education campaign concerning the various terrorism hazards.

• Address the information that will be presented and provide a plan for presentation.

The paper must be two to three pages in length and formatted according to APA style. You must use at least two scholarly sources in addition to the course textbooks to support your claims and subclaims. Cite your resources in text and on the reference page.
