More and more organizations are being recognized for the work they are doing to enhance employment for Aboriginal peoples. Canada's Best Diversity Employers 2017 honoured a number of companies for this work. Among the award recipients was Cameco Corporation for employing Aboriginal Elders at their northern sites so that there are dedicated resources familiar with the culture for maintaining a dedicated team focused on workforce development for communities in northern Saskatchewan.

Aboriginal Peoples Television Network Inc. (APTN) also was recognized for helping its staff achieve a better work-life balance through a number of alternative work schedules and painting the interior walls in an Aboriginal colour scheme. It has also excelled in creating mentorships to assist young Aboriginal workers as they move into the television industry.

The City of Edmonton was recognized for its participation in a partnership to increase the employment of Aboriginal peoples, and Jazz Airlines was honoured for creating scholarships that are awarded to full-time Aboriginal students in their final year of study.
